fictionized travelogue

This is not PR or whatever. It's just that we're asked to come up with a travelogue article. Could not think of anything since I was not able to travel last summer because of ojt.

Despite the deafening screams that filled the air, excitement was drawn in the faces of the people in queue. Everyone was expecting a magic-filled day in an enchanted-kingdom.
For a bunch of teenagers, deciding to spend an entire summer day in a theme park was something novel. So, we braved the traffics of the metro and finally reached our destination for less than two hours.

Kingdom of Magic
(EK) is a theme park located in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. It officially opened its gate to the public in 1995. Since then, children and kids-at-heart have been visiting the park, as it was just 29 kilometers away from Manila.
The 15.5-hectare kingdom is made up of seven themed-zones. Unlike other usual carnivals, EK boasted its numerous rides, playgrounds, food stalls, souvenir shops and environmental parks.
True to Enchanted Kingdom’s promise, we were magically transported to its unique themed-areas in a matter of few chitchats and unhurried walks.
Like gifts waiting to be unraveled, space-exploration-aged caricatures, Caribbean-inspired avenues, Amazon jungles, and New York-inspired parks surprised our every stroll.
Aside from its magnetic themed-zones, Enchanted Kingdom showed off its infamous grand carousel and rollercoaster rides among others. In fact, because of its majestic ambiance, EK has been used as a location for television and commercial shoots.
Despite the long queues and the scorching heat of the sun that we had to endure, excitement was still drawn in our faces. My friends were exclaiming their ‘yahoos!’ and ‘yeheys!’ as it was our turn to try the rides. However, for a gutless-explorer like me, each bend, turn and swing of the rides seemed to take forever.
EK had 20 different rides like Jungle Log Jam, Swan Lake, Up Up and Away, Roller Skater and Flying Fiesta. But Rio Grande for me was the most exciting and adventure-packed attraction.
Riding the ‘Rio Grande’ was comparable to kayaking. A balloon boat had the capacity to take 10 passengers. Along the course of the journey, the vessel would face bumpy paths—waterfalls and waves will hit and rock the boat—so people are advised to bring extra clothes.

Magic lives on…
Come night time, the theme park seemed to brag off more of the magic it possessed. Blinding lights and deafening music numbers started to fill up the park. Across every corner, men and women donning multicolored ensemble danced through the upbeat music.
It was not yet midnight but like the Cinderella story, the display of fireworks signaled the closing of Enchanted Kingdom. Suddenly, the deafening screams halted and the mascots in multicolored ensemble stopped dancing as the music started to fade.
A ten-hour stay in the carnival seemed such a short notice. We went home with smiles on our faces because the magic we experienced did not end on that day alone.
